Star Trek Transporters

You know, in Star Trek they use transporters a lot. It supposedly makes an exact copy of your body and your mind, keeping all the memories and stuff. But all that is stored in physical forms, so if you just make an exact copy and destroy the first one, you'd essentially be killing the person and just making an exact copy. But people could keep on transporting and think that it worked, so they'd be killing thousands of people every day. It's something to think about I guess.

  1. yes, but, actually,
"Transporters convert a person or object into an energy pattern (a process called dematerialization), then "beam" it to a target, where it is reconverted into matter (rematerialization)."
So, it isn't a "copy", but actually the real person, in a different energy state...But, this is why Reginald Barclay was paranoid of being transported, and when he was, he saw "worms" that it turned out where actually people trapped inside the transporter beam, that he was able to rescue!

    2. True but in an article I read about transporter technology they did just make an exact copy and destroy the first one.
